VOTER INFORMATION, BERKELEY AND ALAMEDA COUNTY
Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th, is rapidly approaching! Voting is so important, and Alameda County has made the process incredibly convenient. You need to register to vote, but if you registered in the past, you are all set unless your address, name, or political party has changed. You can check your registration status at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/.
You can vote by returning the ballot you should receive in the mail (be sure to sign the envelope!), or you can vote in person.
To return the mailed ballot, drop it in a mailbox (no postage needed); it must be postmarked by November 5th. You can also drop the completed ballot in any official Alameda County drop-box by 8 p.m. on Election Day. There are six drop-box locations in Berkeley, including one at the North Branch Library (1170 The Alameda) and one downtown at the City Hall/Civic Center Building (2180 Milvia).
Did you know you can track your vote-by-mail ballot, and confirm that it has been received and counted? Go to california.ballottrax.net/voter to register for notifications (by email, text, or phone).
If you prefer to vote in person, you can go to any Alameda County voting center (see acgov.org/rov_app/vcalist for a list of locations). Voting centers are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the three days before Election Day. A few voting centers (including the one at the YWCA in Berkeley, 2600 Bancroft Way) are open even sooner, starting on October 26th.
